    Review of Physiology and Fitness
This is an outstanding video, one of the best in the Great Courses collection. It covers basic exercise theory, helps you see what kind of shape you’re in. It explains the fitness of bodily systems, such as – breathing ( respiratory system ), muscles, bones and more. Handling stress, walking, stretching, yoga and balance are covered and a lot more. Then there are several several exercise routines. It’s well done, Dean Hodkin’s delivery is good, and it’s well worth getting.

I really like this Great Courses video. It is full of useful and valuable information. The “teacher” does an excellent job.

  4. Charles A. Vick

    Dynamic
24 lectures on Anatomy & Physiology, 12 half hour work outs you can do at home. Mr. Hodgkin is a great motivator, with a lot of positive energy, good form and worth the sale price of $99.99. Intermediate to advanced level.

Excellent content – but lacking key information regarding heart rate monitoring and heart rate zones
Would have given this 5 stars if Dean had covered heart rate zones and the importance of using a heart rate monitor in training. I’m baffled by the fact that he could go into so much detail regarding the heart, but not bring out a single point on the importance of monitoring your heart rate during exercise. In my opinion this is of critical importance during high intensity or endurance training.
