Absolutely beautiful movie and collectable
One of miyazaki’s best works. I would assume everybody knows the story so I won’t review it but more of the material here. It’s an absolutely timeless story with fantastic artwork.
The steelbook itself is stellar. Absolutely attention-grabbing and fantastic and it’s collectible appearance. The Blu-ray transfer is excellent color pops appropriately. I’m a 4K snob but I don’t miss it in this.

This movie has haunted me since watching it. It was amazingly drawn and fantastically written. It’s a good steelbook as well.

Pretty Cool
Five stars for this brilliant animated feature, a movie that deserves every superlative heaped upon it. Three stars for the limited edition steelbook which might possibly really be made of steel but it so sheer it feels like plastic. But it does look pretty swift and it is a limited edition. Perhaps it will appreciate in value over time?

It you love anime and awesome looking food this movie is amazing I love the lore how a young girl and a parents moved to there new home just for the dad to take a wrong turn and end up being in this ghost town which at night transformed into a mysterious place studio ghibhi did an awesome job

GK Kids Steelbook Blu great packaging and transfer
Bluray looked great on my 4K disc player (which upscaled it). Steelbook is very nice and feels collectible and well made. Small essays and info in case. Noticed details and things about the movie I’d never noticed before. One of the best movies of all time and a masterpiece.

Shout factory lanza el clásico de animación del maestro Hayao Miyazaki en formato de alta definición.
El steelbook le de un look premium y me encanta el arte en la parte interior, honestamente se lucieron. La cubierta plástica que protege el metal contenÃa una pequeña estampa con lo que parece ser un folio de el steelbook, no estoy seguro si están numerados pero por si las dudas recomiendo sobre todo a los coleccionistas conservarlo.
OJO! Es una edición americana y NO contiene subtÃtulos o audio en español.
Los discos vienen en bandejas superpuestas aunque parece que tiene bastante espacio por lo que posiblemente se reduce el riesgo de rayones. Esperaba un booklet con notas pero mi copia solo contenÃa un folleto con otras pelÃculas de Ghibli editadas por Shou factory, es quizás mi única queja.
El video es excellente, con un codec MPEG-4-AVC que corre a 30 Mbps en promedio, no encontre ningun rasgo de artefactos de compresión, tales como macrobloqueo, ruido de mosquito, “ringing” , o “banding”.
El grano es aparente pero siempre se mantiene bajo control y tiene un aspecto natural. El detalle es exquisito, no solo se pueden ver los detalles en los fondos de acuarela, cosas como hojas, o las texturas de la madera están bien definidas y delineadas, si no que también se aprecia la textura del papel usado, en momentos inclusive se pueden apreciar las pequeñas imperfecciones en las lÃneas de lápiz, los colores son vibrantes, este es por mucho uno de los mejores bluray de animación que he visto, lo único que podrÃa mejorarlo es pasar a un transfer en 4k con HDR.
Shout factory ofrece tres saludables opciones , Ingles DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 ES matrix, Japones DTS-HD Es Matrix y Frances DTS.
Elegi la opcion en japones pues es el audio original, aunque cambie las opciones a lo largo de la presentación.
El japonés es bastante solido, sin ningún problema que pudiera distinguir, el dialogo es claro y la imagen es solida, aunque me hubiera gustado que hubiera algo mas de actividad en los canales traseros, En cuanto al inglés me pareció que tiene un ligero incremento en cuanto a la separación, aunque podrÃa ser solo el efecto placebo. El francés es bastante bueno si consideramos las limitaciones, no detecte problemas de clipping o distorsión.
Los extras son bastante simples, algunos trailers y spots de TV asà como un detrás de cámaras (o microfonos?).
