Visually amazing, and the songs were good, too
Alright, gents, let’s talk “Wicked” â the movie version, that is. As a guy who’s seen the stage show, once I went in with a healthy dose of skepticism, but came out genuinely impressed. They’ve taken a beloved classic and given it a visually stunning, emotionally resonant cinematic makeover.
First off, the world of Oz is absolutely breathtaking. They’ve translated the stage magic into a sprawling, vibrant spectacle. Itâs like stepping into a living painting, every scene bursting with color and detail. Itâs a feast for the eyes, even for those of us who usually prefer our entertainment with a bit more⦠explosions.
The story, as always, is a masterclass in nuanced storytelling. It’s not just about good versus evil; it’s about friendship, acceptance, and the power of perspective. Theyâve captured the heart of the show perfectly, and even added some new layers that really enhance the experience.

Wicked
This movie is one of my favorite movies of the year!!! Went to see it, and it was a treat. It is definitely a good movie for families, though there are some scary scenes towards the end with the wizard of Oz. There is no language and any inappropriate scenes for the most part. The acting was brilliant (Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, and Michelle Yeoh were perfect, and Jeff Goldblum was an excellent choice to play the wizard of Oz). The singing and music really surprised me as really good because the songs did not over-cram the lyrics into the rhythms and tunes like in many Disney musicals. The music was very catchy. The visual effects were excellent, the dance-coreography was amazing, and the costume design was really fun and over the top. Kudos and my hearty congratulations to everyone on that cast and to everyone who worked on this movie as a whole! I definitely recommend this movie.

I LOVE this movie; I’ve seen it numerous times. One time in the theatre, some times on line lol, I paid for the Google Play movie and I bought the BluRay. I just can’t get enough of this movie. The singing, the dancing, the characters that are played so well. There’s no one that I don’t like in this movie! 10/10

Amazing movie. Great musical.
I’m generally leery of books to movies but they actually did a very good job of this story line. Sure some gaps but the music is amazing. I am glad they decided to break this story line up into multiple movies instead of cramming it all into one movie. If you like musicals and stories of Oz I highly recommend seeing this movie. If you follow disney movies you’ll see a lot of familiar faces in the backgrounds of their songs.

No One Mourns the Wicked?
Finally, I got to watch “Wicked”. I found it to be a captivating experience, even though the story started out a bit slow. Once the pace picked up, I was easily drawn into the evolving friendship between Elphaba and Galinda. Their dynamic was beautifully portrayed and added depth to the storyline.
The music in “Wicked” is nothing short of fantastic. I especially loved the songs “Popular,” “The Wizard and I,” and “Defying Gravity.” Having known most of the songs beforehand, actually seeing and hearing the characters bring them to life was an amazing experience. The performances were top-notch and added a whole new dimension to the music I already loved.
Overall, “Wicked” is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys a powerful story of friendship, good-vs-evil, and so many other important themes, coupled with incredible music. Itâs a magical journey that is both visually and audibly stunning.

Great movie but sound quality could’ve been better.
I watched it already three times since it was delivered yesterday evening! It’s wonderful!
Yet I do have a few complaints. One is the sound, I expected higher quality sound for this being a movie musical. I felt it had stereo sound quality instead of Dolby sound quality. I had to turn up the volume quite a bit just to hear it. Normally I have my volume at 12 and that’s fine whatever I’m watching. I had to turn it to up 22 to watch this and I have a really good quality soundbar!
When I paused the Blu-ray DVD to let my dog out, etc, I came back and it was on some kind of screensaver that I couldn’t get it out of it to return back to the movie. I turned off the DVD player and turned it back on just to get back to the movie. Idk what to make of that. ??
Watching the digital copy, I had no problem with pausing it and picking up where I left off but the sound quality was still the same.
Last but not least, I expected more bonus features since this was an high anticipated movie/musical and the price I paid for it. I was disappointed what was offered on the Blu-ray DVD under the bonus selection, I had already seen those on YouTube.
Overall, the storyline and music itself is wonderful and I truly enjoyed it despite those few set backs.

My daughter paid the extra because this came with the Digital Code. Total waste of money and (in my opinion) false advertising. Donât buy in Canada. Just buy the Bluray and enjoy the movie. This seller needs to state this and keep this copy only available on Amazon.com.
